KNOW YOUR ROLE

To quote my friend Charo,

"CAN I JUST TELL YOU!!!!"

The beauty of my job is that I am supposed to be the end-all and be-all when it comes to matters of the English Language. Far be it for me to tell a designer or a programmer how to do their job. We have a software tester here who seems to think that commenting on grammar is part of his job. I'll let you be the judge. Here, he's commenting on copy I wrote:

"We developed and execute a reservation service for ZimpliHotels ---> is the tenses ok?"

IS the TENSES? Bwahahahahaha! How can you expect me to trust you with grammar when your own sentence is, unfortunately, gramatically incorrect!

He also seems to think that the "Careers" page that we find on other company sites should be "Career" lang.

Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

Hahaha! That's so funny Jay! Baka meron ka pang grammar bloopers share ka lang. I enjoy those kind of stuff eh!

What's the wrong? ;)

um.
my apologies for this being my most irritating comment ever but
shouldn't it be
#1 "far be it FOR me"
and
#2 "We developed and execute"
Apart from "execute" being in the wrong tense (it should all match up in the sentence) i would do away with it entirely because it doesn't contribute anything "developed" already implies.
aren't people who correct grammar so annoying?

Why Ryan, my oldest friend, thank you very much for commiserating with me and not kicking me while I'm down. I knew I could always count on you for a sympathetic ear and for you to always know the right thing to say.

And that's why we miss him so badly. ;-)
